This trip takes you to some of the most famous sights in Peru. The mystical Machu Picchu, the magical Titicaca Lake, the white city of Arequipa as well as the ancient capital of the Inca Kingdom- Cusco where you are given a private tour. This trip has a calmer tempo which gives you plenty of time to acclimatize and an opportunity to further explore the cities on your own.

Day by day presentation:

Day 1: Arrival to Lima.
At the arrival to Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon or evening is free to relax or explore by yourself.
Day 2: Lima.
This morning we have a city tour of Lima’s historic center, with visits to the main square, the impressive Cathedral, San Francisco church and catacombs. The late afternoon and evening are free for private exploration. (B)
Day 3: Lima to Arequipa.
Early transfer from hotel to the airport to take a short flight to the colonial city of Arequipa. The rest of the day is free to spend on your own to acclimatize to your new altitude. Arequipa is located at 2400 meters. Remember that the air is this up here and you should walk slowly and drink plenty of water. (B)
Day 4: Arequipa .
Today to explore this white city built of a volcanic rock called Sillar. We visit the beautiful main square, and the best known attraction, the Santa Catalina convent. We then continue our tour to the Yanahuara Square for some photographic opportunities of Arequipa’s volcanic surrounds Misti (5,822 m), Chachani (6057 m) and Pichu-Pichu (5669 m) before returning to our hotel. Day 5: Arequipa to Puno.
Today we are getting an early transfer to the bus station to take the bus to Puno. The trip takes about 7 hours. We travel through a changing landscape where we can see Alpcacas, lamas, vicunas and flamingos on the way. Remember to bring some snacks to eat on the bus. At the arrival to Puno we are transferred to the hotel. The afternoon is free to spend on your own and to once again acclimatize to our new altitude. (3 800 m) (B)
Day 6: Puno to Amantani.
Today we begin our boat tour of Lake Titicaca. We visit the famous ‘floating islands’ of the Uros tribe before continuing to the island of Amantani. Tonight we stay with local families who give us an insight into their culture and lifestyle. We’re also invited to a traditional party in the evening with dancing. Take the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surroundings. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Amantani to Puno
We leave Amantani to continue to the quiet island of Taquile. The island has many Inca terraces and the locals are known for their beautiful weaving techniques. They are even awarded by UNESCO. We get a demonstration of the traditional weaving and eat a traditional lunch. We then continue back to Puno. (B,L)
Day 8: Puno to Cusco.
Today take the journey across the altiplano from Puno to Cusco, takes 9 hours approximately. During the trip we will have a short visit while crossing the high altitude pass of La Raya. We also visit the Temple of Viracocha, the Inca Creator God which is one of their most sacred sites. On arrival in Cusco the evening is free to explore on your own. (B,L)
Day 9: Cusco.
The day is free to spend on your own. Visit the many Indian markets of Cusco or make your own chocolate at the chocolate museum. You can also book an additional tour into the sacred valley. (Extra charge, contact us for information) (B)
Day 10: Cusco.
Today we get a private tour of Cusco and it’s surroundings. We visit the Cathedral of Santo Domingo and ‘Koricancha’ – the magnificent Inca Temple of the Sun. Continuing on we visit the great ceremonial center of Sacsayhuaman on a hilltop overlooking Cusco. On leaving Sacsayhuaman we visit the well-preserved Inca sites of Quenco, Puka Pukara and the Temple of Tambo Machay. The evening is free to spend on your own. (B.)
Day 11: Cusco to Aguas Calientes.
Today we get transfer to the train station and board the train service to Aguas Calientes, the small town located beneath the spectacular ruins of Machu Picchu. We travel on the Vistadome train which has a glass roof, giving you a wonderful panoramic view of the area we travel through. On arrival in Aguas Calientes we are shown to our hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend on your own. If you feel like swimming you can visit the hot springs. (B)
Day 12: Machu Picchu to Cusco.
Early morning we take a 25 minutes bus ride to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and our guide will begin the guided tour, so you can better know the history and architecture of the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. After the guided tour you might have time to explore the ruins on your own. Tip! For those who are looking for a little more of an adventure you can climb the mountain top of Huayana Picchu. (not included, have to be pre ordered. Contact us for more information.)
When we return to Aguas Calientes you have time to get lunch on your own before we take the train back to Cusco. Please observe some trains stop in Ollantaytambo and from there we take the bus back to Cusco. (B)
Day 13: Cusco to Lima.
Transfer from hotel to airport, the flight to Lima take about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Arriving in Lima you will be transferred to the hotel, then you have free time to explore Miraflores. Since this is the last night in Peru you will have a farewell dinner show and discover our history in a different way. (B,D)
Day 14: Departure.
Four hours before your departure time you will be transferred to the airport. This concludes our journey. (B)
