Costa Rica has a big animal life as well as beautiful nature, lovely beaches and wonderful culture. On this journey we have pick out some of the best that Costa Rica has to offer. Our journey starts in the capital of San Jose, we then move to the Caribbean coast to see the famous canals around Tortuguero national park. Here you may see sea turtles. We then continue to the Arenal area to study the cloud forest and the big biological diversity found here. At Monteverde we get to take part in one of Costa Ricas most famous activities. A Sky Trek Zipline and Tram tour. Then it is time to move to the pacific coast for relaxation. We live beautifully at Jaco Beach located near the boarder of the rain forest. The tour ends with a city tour in San Jose.

Day to day presentation:

Day 1: Arrival San Jose
Arrive by air into San Jose. Upon arrival a representative from will meet you at the baggage claim area and will indicate you the emplacement of our driver. Our representative will provide you with a welcome kit with a welcome letter, vouchers, map and a detailed itinerary of your holiday in Costa Rica. Enjoy a short drive to San Jose for your first night in Costa Rica.
Day 2: San Jose to Tortuguero
Early morning pick up for the drive through the Braulio Carrillo National Park to the canals lining the Atlantic Coast, where the two-hour boat trip to Tortuguero starts. A typical breakfast is served on the way. Tortuguero National Park, with its 21,000 hectares of preserved tropical rain forest, provides one of the best opportunities to experience a wide range of tropical wildlife.
Arrive at the lodge for lunch. Afterwards take a hiking trip around the hotel property. It is amazing how so nearby your room you can find different kinds of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, poison arrow frogs and many birds and insects including the blue butterfly (Morpho peleides).
In the evening, after a delicious meal, you will relax along the canals edge with a cocktail and enjoy the night sounds of the jungle. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Tortuguero.
After breakfast, guests will enjoy a guided boat tour along the canals of Tortuguero national park. Entrance fee to Tortuguero National Park included.
Visit the canals within the National park to discover a large variety of birds and receive detailed information on the flora and fauna of the area. Return to the lodge for lunch.
The lodge will then schedule a tour to the village in the afternoon. This tour will provide detailed information on its history, culture and work in favor of conservation of the sea turtles and the flora and fauna in general. The entrance fee to the Caribbean Conservation office (CCC) is not included. USD 2 per person has to be paid directly to the CCC (B,L,D)
Day 4: Tortuguero – Arenal.
Enjoy a scenic boat and bus transfer back to the town of Guapiles. Enjoy a delicious lunch before heading to the Arenal area. Take a shuttle transfer to Arenal.
Arenal’s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer’s dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your “must-do in Costa Rica” list. So visit one of the nicest volcanoes in Costa Rica, cloud forests, a lake world-famous for windsurfing and an incredibly diverse population of wildlife is just part of what you will find in this amazing area of Costa Rica. Late afternoon arrival to the hotel in Arenal Area, your home-base for tonight. (B,L)
Day 5: Arenal – Monteverde.
Afternoon pickup at the hotel for the scenic shared lake crossing transfer (boat-car) to Monteverde.
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most diverse and rich tropical cloud forests in the New World and home to the resplendent Quetzal and the rare bell bird. Monteverde is not only interesting for the Cloud Forest Reserve’s inhabitants, but also for its founders, the Quakers. This area will be your home-base for two nights. After check-in, feel free to explore your new surroundings. (B)
Day 6: Monteverde.
In the morning you will hike through the well marked trails of the Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve. Then enjoy an afternoon adventure at the Sky Trek Zipline & Tram tour. This is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the midst of tree boughs. Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to slide with the use of special equipment. In Sky Tram explore the world-famous Cloud Forest of Monteverde in a 5,249 feet ride that would lead you up to Costa Rica Continental Divide. (B)
Day 7: Monteverde – Jaco.
Today we take a shuttle bus from Monteverde to Jaco to enjoy sun, beach and relaxation. It is possible to book a private transfer instead of the local shuttle bus. Please contact us for prices. At the arrival to Jaco we check in to the hotel. Now it is time to enjoy! (B)
Day 8-9: Jaco Beach.
The days are free to spend on your own.
Jaco is the perfect place for sun lovers and active travelers. Here you find lovely beaches with volcano sand, lush rainforests and green hills. In the village one can go shopping, enjoy the food at the restaurants and explore the night life. In the surrounding nature parks one can study the rain forest and learn more about the plants and animals found in this impressive eco system. In Carara National Park there are spectacular water falls and the rivers are excellent for white water rafting. Here you can even find squirrel monkeys and endangered Scarlet Macaws parrots! Take a tour with a four wheeler or by horse and visit remote villages, water falls and paradise beaches. For the more active tourist one can try sports fishing, snorkeling, paragliding, ziplining, sea kayak or why not bungy jumping. In the area are also nice golf and surfing possibilities. Jaco really has something for everyone! (B)
Day 10: Jaco – San Jose.
Today we are transfered from Jaco back to San Jose. At the arrival we check in to our hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend on your own. (B)
Dag 11: San Jose.
Today we take a city tour in San Jose. We visit classic sights such as The national theater from 1897 (closed on Sundays), The university and the beautiful Sabana park. Vi even visit one of the many museums in the city. The tour ends with a visit to a craftsmen’s shop where you have an excellent opportunity to find a souvenir to bring home. The tour last for about 5 hours and the rest of the day is free to spend on your own. (B)
Day 12: Departure.
We are transferred to the airport for the departure or our onward journey. (B)
