BHUTAN
Bhutan’s glorious landscape ranges from subtropical plains in the south to the sub-alpine Himalayan heights in the north, where some peaks exceed 7,000 meters (23,000 ft).Bhutan is located on the southern slopes of the eastern Himalayas, landlocked between Tibet and China to the north, Nepal to the west and Indian and Bangladeshto the west and south. In the temperate zone, grey langur and tiger, are found in the pine forests, whilst fruit-bearing trees and bamboo provide habitat for the Himalayan black bear and red panda. The great Himalayan range in the north is home to the snow leopard, Tibetan wolf, antelope, Himalayan musk deer and the taki, Bhutan’s national animal, in addition to more than 770 species of birds.
