Kenya is famous for its prolific wildlife and contrasting landscape from the dizzy heights of Mount Kenya to tropical rain forests, open savannah, and the biggest collection of fresh and sodium lakes dotted along its slice of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, that towers above the ‘Great Escarpment’. Kenya has considerable national parks, ranches and wildlife sanctuaries devoted to wildlife, including the Masai Mara, which is the setting for one of the Natural Wonders of the World – the great wildlife migration (from June to end September) when 2 million Blue wildebeest and zebra migrate a distance of 1,800 miles from neighboring Serengeti in search of fresh grazing and water.Up to 250,000 wildebeest perish each year in the long trek, which includes a treacherous and dramatic crossing of the crocodile infested waters of the great Mara River. The ‘Big Five’ animals (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros, and elephant) can be found in healthy numbers in Kenya, as well as a significant population of other wild animals, reptiles and birds within its many wildlife sanctuaries. In addition Kenya boosts some of the most pristine coastline and marine national parks in Africa.
Below is our collection offering the ideal combinations of safaris and beach getaways, carefully assembled to reflect the essence of Kenya.
